2. Frecuencias disponibles para las operaciones de sistemas VSAT geoestacionarios/Frequencies available for geostationary VSAT:

Banda Ku / Ku Band:

11.7-12.2 GHz (Space-Earth), 14.0-14.5 GHz (Earth-Space)

Banda C / C Band:

3700-4200 MHz (Space-Earth), 5925-6425 MHz (Earth-Space)

3. Requisitos de coordinación de frecuencias, en caso los hubiera/Frequency coordination requirements, if any:

C-band earth stations require domestic and international coordination due to potential harmful interference to/from co-primary allocated terrestrial services.  Ku-band earth stations require international coordination only if associated coordination contours extend into the territory of another Administration which may receive harmful interference to other co-primary allocated services.

4. Políticas para terminales sólo de recepción/Policies for receive-only terminals:

Receive-only earth stations are normally exempted from licensing in Canada provided they meet technical criteria specified in Radio Standards Specification 210 (RSS-210) Low Power Licence-Exempt Radiocommunication Devices (All Frequency Bands).  An electronic copy of this document is available at the following Industry Canada web site:           http://strategis.ic.gc.ca/SSG/sf01320e.html

5. Políticas para uso temporal como ser para captación de noticias por satélite (SNG)/Policies for temporary use such as Satellite News Gathering:

In Canada, domestic Satellite News Gathering (SNG) terminals are considered to be transportable earth stations, and therefore are licensed as fixed earth stations.  Although foreign SNG operations cannot be licensed, they can be authorized for temporary operation in Canada for use with approved foreign satellites, on the basis of reciprocal licence recognition, as is the case with the United States.  Further information on the authorization of foreign SNGs can be found in the following Industry Canada publications:

VSAT stations do not require type approval in Canada, however they must meet technical requirements outlined in Radio Standards Procedure 114 (RSP-114) Licence Application Procedure for Planned Earth Stations in Space Radiocommunication Services.  A copy of this document is available at the following Industry Canada web site:http://strategis.ic.gc.ca/SSG/sf00026e.html

Although no separate fixed earth station licence application form exists, all submissions should provide detailed information in accordance with application criteria stipulated in CPC 2-6-01, noted in Section 5.
