HIRING OF TEMPORARY ADMINISTRATION FOR THE COMPANIES ANDINATEL S. A. AND PACIFICTEL S. A.
The Government of Ecuador, which is the sole owner of the companies ANDINATEL S. A. and PACIFICTEL S. A. (THE COMPANIES) through the Solidarity Fund, has decided to hire a Temporary Administrator for THE COMPANIES with the purpose of enhancing their efficiency, improving their economic performance, achieving the transfer of knowledge and expertise from Administrator to local staff, and preparing them for a successful growth in a free-competition environment.
An Administrator shall be selected via an international public request for tenders. The Administrator shall enjoy a high degree of autonomy to make and carry out the decisions it may deem adequate in order to bring the companies to a level that will allow them to meet the proposed objectives.
NUMBERING PLAN IN ECUADOR (SECOND PHASE) - April 30, 2003: The Consejo Nacional de Telecomunicaciones del Ecuador (CONATEL), Quito, announces that it will bring into effect its new numbering structure on 28 September 2003 at 0000 hours local time (0500 hours UTC). In fixed telephony, the new numbering structure will be affect all country, resulting in a national (significant) number comprising eight (8) digits, one (1) digits for the area code and seven (7) digits for the subscriber number.
