XII Meeting of PCC.II will be held in Mar del Plata, Argentina from September 16 to 19, 2008 |
The ad hoc groups on Value-Added Service and Equipment Certification Processes met in Brasilia and both groups managed to develop draft guidelines for their respective areas of responsibilities.
This is viewed as a major step forward in achieving the objectives established by the Summit of the Americas in the Telecommunications area. Both sets of guidelines are being circulated for review by CITEL members and associate members and approval of guidelines is on the agenda of the PCC.I meeting in September in Lima.
PCC.I also adopted the same guidelines for the use of associate member funds as were adopted in PCC.II and PCC.III. In addition, explanations of how the guidelines are interpreted in PCC.I were prepared and will also be distributed to the other PCCs.
The Plenary decided that for 1997 it would be sufficient to have just two meetings.
Venezuela has extended an offer to the Chairman of PCC.I to host the sixth meeting which will be held from 24-28 February 1997.
